Obituary for Cole Alexander Hunter

Cole Alexander Hunter
It is with great sadness that today we have to announce the passing of our precious son and brother Cole, who has been taken from us to return to his sender and the open arms of his mother. Cole was a most generous, caring and loving person, who would do anything to help anyone who was less fortunate, sad or needed support. Cole was derailed from this ambassadorship in his last year of an Honours Political Science degree by a relentless mental illness called Schizophrenia that possessed him with intrusive demonic thoughts and what he would describe as fearful, demanding and self harmful, thoughts unimaginable and to which we can't really know. He fought the last couple of years, with experimental medications, hospitalizations, but could not win the battle in overcoming these demons that were controlling him and took over his life. We were so hoping for him to prevail, but God had a different plan for this outstanding person. His smiling face, his generous and loving personality will be remembered in our hearts forever. We love you Cole. We know you are at peace and we will miss you dearly. Until we meet again. Sadly missed by his loving father Alex, brother Jesse, stepbrother Jay, step-mom Sandy, grandmother Alfreda and all his cousins, aunts and uncles. A memorial service will be held Thursday October 2, 2014 at 1:00p.m. at Trinity United Church 140 Maple Street, Collingwood followed by a Celebration at the Royal Canadian Legion-Branch 63 . In lieu of flowers donations to the Schizophrenia Society of Canada would be appreciated.
