Florence Victoria Reid (Smith)
September 4, 1927 – February 7, 2018

Florence Victoria Reid (Smith) passed away peacefully in the evening of February 7, 2018 at Campbell House Hospice, Collingwood, Ontario in her 91st year, loving wife of the late Arthur Reid (December 2003). This strong, independent lady was an inspiration not only to her family but the many people, young and old in the community that she met on her daily 6 km walk with her walker into Collingwood to visit her many friends on her way to Shoppers Drug Mart. To many people, mom did not have a name but was known as the ‘lady with the walker’.
Loving mother of Daisie (Ken) Gregory of Stayner, Jean Reid of Milton, June (John) Beardsall of Wyebridge and Wm Reid of Collingwood.
Much loved grandmother of Terry (Dan) McIntosh of Orillia, Cari Schmeler of Victoria Harbour, Adam Schmeler of Port Severn, Kathryn Gregory of Stayner, Kyle Gregory of New Westminster, BC, Jennifer Reid-Burrell of Etobicoke, Jessica Reid-Burrell of Midlothian, Virginia, Ashley Reid (Greg Wood) of Coldwater and Christopher Reid of Collingwood.
Great Grandma is lovingly remembered by her three great grandsons, Sidney and Curtis Storer and Finn Schmeler.
Dear sister of Walter (Bud) and Wilma Smith and brother in law, Jack Teeter. Fondly remembered by former daughter in law, Wilma Reid and many nieces and nephews, as well as dear friends, Onalee, Heather and Gail.
Florence was predeceased by parents James and Florence (Thatcher) Smith, sisters Lillian and Mary Margaret and brothers Jim and Edward.
As per mom’s wishes cremation has taken place. Mom will be laid to rest in Dad’s arms in a graveside service for family and friends on Saturday May 12, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Singhampton Cemetery. Followed by a reception at Mylar and Loreta's (upstairs room - not accessible).
