Never gone

Buddhist monk Thich Nhat Hanh likens dying to a candle flame. He lights a candle and then blows it out. When the smoke rises, he asks, 'Is the candle flame still there?'  Then he answers, 'It is, and it isn't.'

He goes on to explain that even though the flame is no longer visible to the eye, the chemical composition, the energy of the flame, is still exactly the same as when the candle was lit. As the wisp of smoke goes into the atmosphere, he says that is just how our lives are.

Dad...you are still with us. Not only do I have a lifetime of wonderful memories, I cherish our love, which can never be extinguished.  In my heart forever, Sharon. XOXO
