Obituary for Wendy McCarthy

The world lost a strong and independent woman who has had the pleasure to walk this earth on Saturday, April 7, 2018 when the Lord called her home at the age of 59. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends, in the care of Hospice Georgian Triangle, also known as Campbell House, in Collingwood from her 51 year battle with kidney disease.

She is survived by her two sisters Patricia and husband Andrew Hunt, and Tamy Walker, her nephew Dean and wife Cathie Hunt, niece Theresa and husband Hung Lam and niece Charity and husband Bryce Johnstone, her great-nephews Sheldon Hunt, Zachary Charlebois, Landon Johnstone, Logan Johnstone and great-nieces Izabelle Charlebois, Sydney Hunt, Olivia Hunt and Rhys Johnstone.

Wendy was predeceased in death by her parents Bill and Francis Walker and her sister Nancy.

She was a kind and loving soul who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Wendy loved decorating for the changing seasons and holidays. Christmas was her favorite time of year. In the summer, you would find Wendy tending to her flower garden by hand, no roto-tiller for her. In the winter, she would be feeding her birds, pointing out the different species. She loved watching movies, especially the classics, and playing board games.

Wendy loved her cocker spaniels, Duncan, Gus and Conner.

Wendy thought someone special was watching out for her and now we have her watching over all of us.

Wendy was a very special person who will never be forgotten
