It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the unexpected passing of Alexander William Elliot at St. Michael’s Hospital on Tuesday May 16, 2023, at the age of 82.
Proud father of Steve (Alison) Elliot and Judy (David) Atherton, cherished grandfather of Elliot, Natalie, and James. Dear brother of Lena (the late Ian) Colville. Alex was the loving partner of Ruth Wilton and will be missed by her children Matthew (Jamie) and Stephen and their families.
Born in Scotland to parents Alexander and Margaret Elliot. Alex attended Stow College of Engineering in Glasgow, Scotland and began his career as a Mechanical, Structural, and Civil Engineer. His love of skiing drew him to the Collingwood area where he was part of the “Love to ski” community for over 30 years.
Family and friends will be received for visitation at Fawcett Funeral Home – Collingwood Chapel on Wednesday May 24, 2023, from 2-4 p.m. A service of remembrance will be held in the chapel on Thursday May 25, 2023, at 1 p.m. The service will be available by livestream Elliot Service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital MRI Fund in Alex’s memory.
