New, Barbara Jean (nee Pugh)
March 25, 1931 - December 10, 2022
Survived by Don, her devoted husband of 71 years, sister Phyllis, and two daughters, Lynn Marie (Rick) and Sandra Jean. Known as Nan and loved dearly by her four grandchildren Alexis (Andrew), Matthew (Stacey), Holly (Mike), and Jason (Nasem). The love of her life were her 6 great grandchildren Ryann, Lincoln, Harper, Rory, Carter and Olivia.
Born in Kingston, ON, Barb graduated from KCVI high school and took her first job as a steno. with Empire Life, finishing her career with RBC. Barb and Don were high school sweethearts and married in 1951.
Family was the center of Barb’s life. Cottage time with the Grands was her time to spoil them. In between visits she was an avid Toronto Blue Jay fan, loved to golf, fish, and always a very competitive game player. Bid euchre was her favourite which she enjoyed with her many friends in Florida and the VOG in Hamilton.
A talented and gracious hostess, Barb loved to serve family dinners where all the clan would gather to celebrate special occasions. Although many would try to emulate her pastry, no one was able!
