Obituary for Betty Prest

BETTY MARIE PREST
November 24,1929 – December 23,2022.

Passed away peacefully at Campbell House Hospice in Collingwood after a brief illness and is blessed to be going to a better place now to join her sister Lillian, brother Chuck and their spouses Walter and Beverly.

She will be greatly missed by her sons, John (Lindsay) of Elmvale, Ont. and Stephen of Meaford, Ont. She was predeceased by young daughter Barbara. She was a devoted and loving grandmother to Kayla (Kyle), Cameron (Kim), Brandon (Jan) and Lauren (Steve), and to her two great grandchildren Paige and Linkin.

Born and raised in Toronto, Betty attended Lambton Kingsway School, Etobicoke Collegiate Institute and the University of Toronto. Betty found her calling as an elementary and senior-public school teacher for many years in Mississauga, before moving to Collingwood almost twenty years ago with late husband Don to be closer to her sons and grandchildren. She was loved and respected by all those who knew her for her kind and loving spirit and comforting ways. To know her was also to know her love for her Toronto sports teams and not to call her when the game was on!

A very special thank you goes to the amazing nurses at the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital and at Campbell House Hospice for making Betty’s last days with us so peaceful.

Per Betty’s wishes, cremation has taken place and her family has wished her well on her heavenly journey. A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.
