Our family announce Brent’s passing on Monday September 5, 2022, at the age of 58 following a challenging decline related to COPD. He is deeply loved by his wife Peggy Verstrate and will be remembered as the proud father of Brayden and Conner Blackburn. Also missed by Peggy’s daughters Ashley and Brittany Verstrate and his grandson Jackson.
Born and raised in Collingwood by parents Gordon and Beatrice, Brent is survived by his siblings Greg (late Val), Kevin (Heather), Gail Blackstock (Dave Marsden), Randy (Sylvia) and Kari Blackburn (Tom McIntyre). He will be remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends.
As per his wishes cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion at 1 p.m. on Friday September 23, 2022. As an expression of sympathy donations in Brent’s memory may be made to SickKids Hospital.
