Obituary for Bruce Loveless

On July 4th Bruce was promoted to Glory. He is now in the presence of His Heavenly Father. Our hearts are broken but we are so thankful that he guided his family with faith, love, strength and compassion. He was a man of God who loved reading his bible and praying. He lived his life with passion. Just before he turned fifty he left the world of civil engineering and went to Tyndale Seminary and received his Master of Divinity degree.

He lived by his favourite motto of “Listen to God and do what He says.” His first church was a Presbyterian Church in Vankoughnet Ontario and then he was associate pastor at First Pres in Collingwood. He began a nondenominational church in Craigleith named Church of the Blue Mountains. He pastored his church with love and care. He allowed his congregation to experience their own faith journeys while walking alongside them without judgement but with tremendous encouragement. He was the Chaplain at the Collingwood hospital for ten years retiring in 2016. He was gifted at listening and showing care and compassion.

He leaves behind his wife of fifty years Nancy and his three children Matthew (Sara) Loveless, Pamela Loveless (Derek) and Kari Loveless-Razo (Mike). He was the beloved Papa to his eight grandchildren Michaela, Paige, Jacob, Nadia, Faith, Eliza, Leah and Shiloh. They have memories of motorcycle rides, fishing, hiking, bonfires in the ravine and his Papa jokes and how he always played the piano for them on their birthdays.Bruce is also survived by his sister Muriel and brothers Morley and Harvey. He was loved by many nieces and nephews.

It has been so beautiful to hear the stories of how Bruce touched the lives of so many people. He was so proud of his family and was the best husband, dad and Papa we could have had. We are thankful for the legacy he has left for us. He left nothing undone, spending his last days encouraging his children and grandchildren and loving and comforting his wife.

Bruce always finished what he started. Our whole family has evidence in our homes of projects he completed. He was a man of his word and could be counted on to carry out his promises. Well done Bruce. Enjoy your eternal reward. We will continue to carry you in our hearts until we meet again.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service and burial will take place at a future date.
