Derrick James Meier passed away peacefully after a courageous battle, surrounded by his family and friends on Monday May, 15, 2023 at Campbell House in Collingwood at the age of 59. Derrick, loving husband of Nancy Meier (nee Benedict) of Collingwood. Cherished father of Rebecca (Jake) McEvoy and Ashley Meier. Survived also by his mother Jacqueline and brother Craig (Bonnie) Meier, his nieces and nephews and his beloved felines Jacinta and Hillary. Predeceased by his brother Gary and his father James Meier. A Celebration of Derrick's Life will be held on Friday May 19, 2023 from 3-7 pm at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 63, 490 Ontario Street, Collingwood. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made payable to Hospice Georgian Triangle (Campbell House) or the Georgian Triangle Humane Society in Mr. Meier's memory.
