Obituary for Don Lockhart
Lockhart, Donald John passed away peacefully on Thursday January 5, 2023, at the age of 66.
Don was the eldest of six children born to Jim and Audrey Lockhart and was the first grandson of Clarence and Mildred Lockhart and the loving grandson of Alvin and Irene Young. His family was important to him, and he will be deeply missed by his brother Wayne (Tracy) and sisters Patti, Barb (Jim) McLean, the late Cheryl (Dave Poretta), Linda (Mav Mandeville). He will be remembered with fondness and respect by his nieces and nephews, Justin, Jenna, Bradley, Natalie, Jordan, Michael, Sarah, James, Stephen, Scott, Andrew, Alicia, Jessica, Dariane, Breanna, and Connor. Also, remembered by many aunts, uncles, and friends.
Don was a hard worker and started by delivering the local newspaper, pumping gas at Sinclair’s, painting ships at the shipyard, making furniture at Kauffman’s, owner/operator of Lockhart Contracting and working at Nacan. In his free time, he was always helping his friends and family to do home renovations and restore old cars, including his 1969 Mustang and Chevelle. He enjoyed pursuing antique collectables.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held on Saturday April 22, 2023 from 2-5 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion - Collingwood. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to Hospice Georgian Triangle, or a charity of your choice, in Don’s memory.
