Obituary

Donna Marilyn Smith
February 20th, 1937 - October 25th, 2019

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Donna Marilyn Smith (nee Randle) at the age of 82. Donna passed peacefully on October 25th, 2019 at the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital.

Predeceased by her husband Harry Smith Jr. Donna is survived by her children, Brenda (Richard) Hanna, Doug Smith, and Debbie (Dean) Rowbotham, predeceased by Rob Smith and Tim Smith. Sister of Doug (Doris) Randle and Pat (Doug) Cook. Beloved Grandmother to Chris, Cori, Jason, Kelly, Scott and Deanne. Great Grandmother (lovingly referred to as GG) to 10 and great grandsons and 1 great granddaughter; Mason, Spencer, Sayer, Syel, Matteo, Dante, Billie, Stellan, Cary, Morrissey and Cillian. She will be forever missed by her many nieces and
nephews. A special mention to her niece, Sheri Souliere, whom she was very close with.

Cremation has taken place and a small family service will be held. Donna’s last wishes were to have a party in her home which she loved dearly. It is not a big home, but to her it was everything. Friends and loved ones are welcome to join us on Saturday, November 9th, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. for refreshments and a laugh.

The family would like to thank the wonderful doctors, nurses and staff at the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital for their care and support during this difficult time.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hospice Georgian Triangle or the Georgian Triangle Humane Society.

I am very saddened to learn of the passing of my cousin, Donna. I will never forget the many family reunions in Meaford that took place years ago and the fond memories. My deepest sympathy to the family.

November 2006, after many years of absence due to health and distance, my husband Josef and I were in Collingwood. Donna's sister Pat arranged for a cousin get together . We were outside Pat and Doug's home when an energetic Donna rushed down the street saying "where is my cousin Mary Grace, where is my cousin Mary Grace" It was hard to believe she would be having heart surgery in a week or two. What a loving energetic caring individual!
Being 12 years younger than Donna, I remember my parents Joe and Grace McDonald, saying what a special person she was.
As an adult I discovered this for myself , at the many Randle family celebrations in Meaford.
Our Sympathy to Donna's Family,
Cousin Mary Grace and Husband Josef Amann

My thoughts and prayers are with all the family in the loss of a dear Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother.
