Velyan, Catherine Elaine (nee Pushie) passed away peacefully on Monday May 13, 2019 at age 73. Elaine, proud and loving mother of Kimberly and Ray (Maretta) Velyan will be forever cherished by her grandchildren Jack, Katrina, Vale, Jesse and Jasmine. Born in Glace Bay, NS to parents Lawrence and Reda Pushie, she will be remembered by her brother Alexander ‘Sandy’ and sister Mary; predeceased by brothers Robert, Jimmy and John. Elaine will be missed by Peter Velyan, her aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and extended family. A funeral service will be held on Monday May 20, 2019 at 2 p.m. with visitation one hour prior at Fawcett Funeral Home – Collingwood Chapel. In lieu of flowers donations to the Canadian Mental Health Association or Canadian Cancer Society will be appreciated by the family.
