Faye "Gramma" Green (nee Rogers)
February 10, 1928 - September 6, 2020
Predeceased by husband Douglas. Mother of 4 - Donald (Brenda), Bryon (Susan), Bradley and Bruce (Tanya), 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Honourary Gramma to many, many children through her long life. Thank you to the amazing, kind and compassionate staff at the Collingwood General and Marine Hospital. A private service will be held on Saturday September 12, 2020 at Trinity United Cemetery.
If you wish to remember Gramma, wear something colourful, visit your family, hug a friend, be kind to animals and protect nature. Love and be kind.

Don't bring me flowers when I am dead,
Come see me today, while I'm sick in bed.
Don't cry for me, when I'm no longer here,
Come smile with me, no need for tears.

Don't try to remember how I used to be,
Come by today and you can see.
Make good use of time, while I'm still around,
Don't wait for tomorrow, when I'm in the ground.

And don't give me a funeral fit for a king,
The day I die everyone should sing.
Because you saw me through sorrow and strife,
And yes my friends, all through my life.

To all the Green Family: My heartfelt sympathy to you all on the recent passing of Faye. Faye was indeed a well known neighbourhood woman. She always had her loved dog with her on walks as a companion until she could no more. Due to her feisty nature Faye recovered from falls and injuries as best she could. There was no doubt that her family were her most loved.
Because, in times gone by, Faye babysat many children there will also be a wealth of families who are grateful for her tender care of their children. My blessings to you all on your loss of such a devoted and dedicated family figure.

Bradley, you did not know it was me on the other end of the phone the night you called, I recognized the voice and then the address! "Nana(& Papa) Green to my sister and I, we spent more time with you then our own grandma. My childhood memories are filled with the days we spent with you. The fun times we had out on the front porch with the green gate. The comb that you would comb our hair with at the bathroom sink after our naps. The house I grew up in that our family rented from you in Thornbury. Thank you for the memories. My thoughts are with your family and friends during this time of loss. My condolences Bonnie Lulham 911 dispatcher/paramedic

My sincere condolences to all of the Green family. Faye was an amazing lady . From the first time I met Faye and asked her to babysit my 2 month old daughter (Bonnie) so l could go to nursing school, then Deb as well after I graduated with my RN s, to renting the house in Thornbury for 18 years. Faye was a major influence not only in my life but both of my girls. Thank you for the memories. Heather Stevens (Lulham)

I was only 9 in '71
"We have a new guest, boys... asleep (?) on the couch,"
Bruce - "Its a girl."
Bradley - "Another girl."
Bruce - "She's sorta pretty..."
"Rise and shine! Wake up sleeping beauty."
The best peanut butter cookies and egg salad sandwiches I've ever eaten.
Richie Rich and Archie comics galore.
Smelly hockey stuff!!
Kavet stampedes to the front door (Was there a smaller dog too?).
Mr. G. home from work.
Newspaper in favourite chair.
Do I recall a pipe?
I was only 9.
The dresser of hand-me-downs below the stairs.
"I think this peach jersey will fit you nice!"
But I don't like green beans!!
One hour later...
"You'll like them better next time when they're still hot,"
I found Brian's Mad Magazine behind his bed. Oops!
Not the centerfold I expected... "Mrs. Green!!"
Kavet stampedes to the front door.
Dad is here. I run to him.
50 dollars for Mrs. G.
Weekend over. "You smell like the farm... Into the tub!"
I Dream of Jeannie and Scooby-Doo after school.
Homework on the kitchen table.
New additions Robbie and Ritchie. I'm Jealous.
I was only 9. "You'll always be my girl."
"Sandman's coming. Time for beauty sleep,"
What's a sandman?
"He's a kind fellow who holds your hand and walks you into dream land."
"Oh. Goodnight Mrs. Green. Thank you for everything."
I was only 9.
