Obituary for Fiorita Cont
God took another angel on Sunday November 8, 2020. Cont, Fiorita (Cucovaz) passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family at Mackenzie Health Hospital. Fiorita will be forever loved and remembered by her loyal and loving husband of 50 years Giovanni Cont. She is a devoted and caring mother to her children Sonia Passacquale (Alan) and Antonella Dufour (Adam) and loving nonna to grandchildren Erica and Matt Diego Passacquale.
Fiorita was born and raised in Pulfero, Udine, Italy to parents Angelo and Pierina Cucovaz. She enjoyed her young days in Italy with a large family. She then met the love of her life, Giovanni in 1969 and followed him to Canada. Her smile, positivity, and cheerful personality could light up a room, and her kindness and generosity touched many. She loved her family and friends and having everyone together brought her great joy. Fiorita will be held dear in our hearts and dearly missed by many family and friends.
Private family visitation will take place at Fawcett Funeral Home Collingwood. A private funeral service will take place on Friday November 13, 2020 at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Collingwood. As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Canadian Cancer Society www.cancer.ca
