Obituary for George Bowers

GEORGE EDWARD BOWERS 85 years of age passed away peacefully on December 3rd 2020 with family at his side.

George was born in Toronto and a 52 year resident of Wasaga Beach, plus many years before that as a child growing up. He was always a happy, caring, honest, supportive of others and would help anyone if he could “defender” of the other guy type of person!

He always smiled and joked (right to the end), LOVED hockey and coached Wasaga minor hockey teams for many years plus Coached a Triple A Team the Cambridge Winterhawks. He was respected by many and always respected others, he held long time friendships and loved to go for coffee with “The guys”, he was the most happy spending time with family/staying in Florida or on the beach in Wasaga.
George dealt with life's struggles/illnesses “Head On” with a positive attitude and always looked forward to the future.

He was most proud of his children, adored his grandchildren and great grandchildren and had special bonds with his Son in Law's and Grandson in Law, he held a very strong belief in the Unity of Family.

George was a member of the Real Estate Board of Ontario for 45 years, a Licensed Electrician and a Direct Family member of the James Melbourne Bowers Sr Subdivision in Wasaga Beach called “Bowers Beach” and Bowers Bay.

He will be very sadly missed by his wife Sylvia (of 62 years),Children Tim/Vanessa & Chris, Grandchildren Melissa/Lauren/Kyle & Ryan, Great Grandchildren Emmett/Nash & Hollis, Son in Law's Chris & Ted, and Grandson in Law Shaun.

He is predeceased by brothers Jim & Jack and sisters Connie & Betty, survived by brothers William/Robert & Tomas, and sister Marilyn.
Also missed by an extensive number of family members of Predeceased and surviving siblings, and his friends.
