Helen was a very good friend to me and to my family. Our familycottage in Craigleith, was three doors down from Helen’s (and right next door to her sister Mary’s ). We have many fond memories of get togethers filled with great stories, card games , Queens Plate Horse races, BBQ’s and dinner parties.
When my parents wanted to move from Toronto and buy a store, it was Helen who said that, her sister Effie was looking to retire from their family’s General Store in Duntroon. When we moved, Dr. Harvey became our new family doctor and Helen, his nurse!
Helen, you were such a influence to us all. You will be missed.

Helen, I'm so glad that I was at a 100th birthday on Saturday that made me think of you and prompted me to call to say hello on Tuesday. You were sleeping and the nurse kindly offered to give you my love and I hope that was a comfort in your last hours. I have many warm memories of you and Effie and Mary, and when Mary realized my birthday was the same day as your father's and gave me his inkwell, it became a cherished memory of that branch of the family. I will think of you all when I visit the Presbyterian cemetery, where you've joined my parents and grandparents.
With much love from Wendy and Julia.
