Obituary for Howard Fines

With great sadness we announce the passing of Howard Clayton Fines on December 9, 2020 in his 94th year. “Howie” was born in Regina, Saskatchewan where his career path in financial services took him east and eventually to Toronto where he lived the majority of his life and raised his family. He was married for 70 years to Shirley (nee Goodman) of Regina and together raised two daughters, Debbie Clemens (Keith) and Sandy Fines (Ron). He was a doting “Grampie” to granddaughters Lynsey (Joe), Lauren (Mike), Caitlin (Adam) and Colleen (Mat). Howie was tickled to be a “Great Grampie” to four great granddaughters Emma, Leah, Jocelyn and Alyssa. He proudly lived every aspect of his life with grace, respect and integrity. Howie was a long time member of The Lions Club of Canada serving in all capacities for several clubs and eventually ascending to the chair of District Governor. He was a committed supporter of the Lions Dog Guide Foundation to assist the blind. As expressions of sympathy, a donation in his memory to this cause would be appreciated or to Hospice Georgian Triangle - Campbell House in Collingwood where everyone who came in contact with Howie demonstrated love, care and compassion in his short stay. Due to public health limitations a private family service will be held with interment in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Toronto at a later date.
