Obituary for James Milner

James Beverley Milner - suddenly at the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital on Tuesday February 15, 2022. Son of the late Louise and J. Beverley Milner. Loving husband of Nancy (Merry) (nee Lount). Remembered by Nancy's children Edward (Ted) Merry, (Pamela), and Karen McLeod. Step grandchildren Cooper (Lisa), Emma and Madison Merry; Tom (Madison), James (Katerina) and Heather McLeod, and step great granddaughter Elysia Merry. Also survived by his sister Judith Helston (John).

Born in Oshawa, ON, Jim lived in many places over the years as his father moved during his employment. Finishing high school in Windsor he went to U of T 47-49.

Jim's working career was mostly in retail as he started in department stores from 1949-1952 in Windsor. Then with Simpson's Mail Order until retirement in 1984 retiring as National Operations Manager Major Appliances. On retirement he moved to Collingwood to enjoy the four-season lifestyle the area offers. He enjoyed skiing and tennis at Craigleith Ski Club and took up golf, cycling, and hiking. He also joined the YMCA and became an instructor for Seniors for 17 years. He was also a volunteer at the G&M Hospital.

Jim was an active member of All Saints' Anglican Church serving as Warden for a number of years and in many other capacities.

Funeral for family and invited visitors will be at All Saints' Anglican Church on Tuesday February 22, 2022, at 2 p.m. The service will be available by livestream (link under the PHOTOS & VIDEOS tab)
