Eleanor Jean Scott (nee McNeill)

Jean passed in her 91st year at Campbell House on October 1, 2019, one day after being transferred from General Marine Hospital in Collingwood. Married for 64 years she left behind heartbroken Brian ‘Buck’ Scott, two sons, Gregory (Ellen), Duncan (Vicki) and four much loved wonderful and successful grandchildren, Samantha, Abigail, Alexandra and Robert.
Jean was born in New Liskeard Ontario. She trained at Toronto General Hospital to become a nurse and subsequently worked as a Head Nurse there.
Jean loved a five card major and formed bridge clubs in every place she lived. She was an early member of Craigleith Ski Club and skied with two nursing classmates. Together with their husbands and Buck, this group became known as ‘The Six Pack.’
A celebration of Jean’s life will commence at 2 p.m. at Fawcett Funeral Home - Collingwood Chapel on Saturday November 9, 2019.
If friends so desire, memorial tributes can be made to the Hospice Georgian Triangle - Campbell House or the Collingwood General Marine Hospital.

Memories of my Aunt Jean will always hold a special place in my heart.....she was a gracious and loving person who welcomed me with open arms into her family after many years of being estranged from their lives.....Her wit and sense of humor were particularly endearing....I will never forget the phone call I made one day.....after several rings she picked up and without even asking who the caller was informed me she was "watching the baseball game" and abruptly hung up.....I never called again when the Blue Jays had a game....She was the anchor in her family's life....often referring to her sons and grandchildren and how much she loved them when we shared conversations......the times I shared with her were far too few, but she left a imprint on my heart that will never grow dim....with love always.....Sheila

Jean sure did enjoy a five card major and who wouldn’t. I had the pleasure of playing with Jean for many years with her nursing bridge group. It was a very fun and tight knit group that made me laugh each week I attended. I especially enjoyed Jean’s Newfie nougat each Xmas but didn’t not get the recipe. I wished she had also shared the recipe along with the treat. I know at this moment that Jean is definitely getting a game of bridge going. Hope you get lots of grand slams. You deserve it.
