Obituary for Jim Forrest
Forrest, James Arthur passed away suddenly but peacefully at home on Thursday July 18, 2019 at the age of 69 years. Jim, loving husband of Beverley (nee Mitchell) will be missed by his sons Ron and Jason (Elisha) and his granddaughter Abbey. Jim was one of 15 children born in London to parents George and Mary Forrest; he is survived by his brother Roger and sister Lillian (Raymond) Leibold, predeceased by 6 brothers and 6 sisters. He will be remembered by his sister in law Janice Mitchell and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Jim served in the Royal Canadian Navy along with his older brother for one year. He met Beverley in 1975 and married at her family home in Wasaga Beach in 1985. Jim rode his bicycle wherever he went, he enjoyed playing cards on his computer and he loved tea parties with his granddaughter. He loved life and living it. He was a simple man, who said what he thought and was often referred to as a real character, he will be deeply missed.
As per his wishes cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held on Wednesday July 31, 2019 from 11-1 at the Royal Canadian Legion Collingwood. In lieu of flowers donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
