Obituary for June Janette O'Donnell (Bartlett)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Mom at Bay Haven Care Community in Collingwood. June is now reunited with her loving husband Dennis who was always her “Knight in Shining Armour”. June will be missed dearly by her children Denise, Brian (Janice) and Debbie (Ross). Known affectionately as Nan by her 9 grandchildren, Sherry (Doug), Louise, Greg (Ramona), PJ, Adriana, Erin (Trevor), Drew, Tom (Brieann) and Pamela (Tony). Nan will be fondly remembered by her great grandchildren Sarah, Calvin, Brianne, Reed, Connor, Lauren, Jake, Maggie, Liam, Ava, Mckennah, Madelynn, Jonah, Renée, Layla and her 3 great, great grandchildren Raine, Alyssa and Aria. June is survived by her sister Marlene Noble (Stuart–deceased). Predeceased by her mother Lily Bow (Harry), sister Vera Miller (George), and her brother Leonard Bartlett (Ruth). June will be greatly missed by her extended family, cousins Edward Martin (Ann), George Martin and her many nieces and nephews. Mom loved many people in her life and believed that she was Frank Sinatra’s number one fan. She also idolized Robert Redford, Tiger Woods, Louis Armstrong and Sandy Hawley, just to name a few! June loved the thoroughbred horse races and going to the Kentucky Derby with her dear friends Marg & Jeff Woods (deceased). June loved music, travelling, knitting, sunbathing, movies and most of all buying treasures and gifts for her grandchildren. June always had a smile and a helping hand to everyone she met. She worked for many years as an Office Manager/Executive Secretary and made many life long friends. She especially loved to visit her favourite “Island in the Sun”, Barbados and spent many an evening listening to the Merrymen.

The family would like to thank everyone at Bay Haven Senior Care in Collingwood for the kindness and love they provided for June for the past 6 years.

There will be a celebration of life on Tuesday August 23, 2022 from 1 – 3 pm at York Funeral Centre, 160 Beecroft Rd., North York, ON. M2N 5Z5 with internment to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
