Kenneth Murray Logan passed away on February 14, 2022. His journey began on January 27, 1927 and continued for 95 yrs.+ 18 days. He met the love of his life Jane, they married August 30, 1958, and with that love followed three children and 63 years of companionship which is a milestone of which we are all very proud.
He loved his children with all his heart and was very proud of their accomplishments, Stephen Logan (Belinda), Julie Sheehan (Chris) and Grant Logan (Wendy). He admired and respected his son in law Chris, daughters in law Wendy and Belinda and held great comfort knowing that his children have love, support and companionship in their lives. He cherished and adored granddaughers Kayla Sheehan and her partner Anthony, Alexandrea Sheehan, grandson Jason Logan and great grandson Tyler Davis.
There were many special people in Murray's life, you know who you are. To name a few, his brother Wayne who shares his passion for music, his nieces Karen, Kelly and Becky for checking in to see how he was doing, Debbie and Randy thank you for the endless jars of strawberry jam which he enjoyed in his final days and support over the years, the Le Saux boys from across the road that had a special place in his heart, he watched them grow from infants and later in life welcomed them into our family thank you Brian (Desmond), Sean, Steven (Kyndra & Elodie) for being a part of his life, he adored all of you.
His fur babies Toto, Joey, and Lord Greystock Rascal (it's not a typo) miss him terribly; they are looking after Mom.
Stephen, Julie & Grant were thankful that they were able to reminisce in his final days some wonderful stories, memories and talk about proud moments we all shared. He also learned while reminiscing some of the unknown not so proud moments that we shared with him. He couldn’t respond but we all laughed, and we know he could hear us and was laughing as well.
Murray's love for music was well known within our family and in the community. He played endless gigs with jazz bands over the years both locally and in New York. Many nights and afternoons he would be found playing his bass fiddle at local dances or special events downtown Collingwood. Growing up our house was always filled with musicians jamming into the wee hours. One of the fondest memories of his granddaughters was to watch him play. Music truly was one of his loves.
Murray in the early years worked at the CNR station on St Paul Street in Collingwood. While raising a young family he had a successful career as a life insurance representative with Metropolitan Life Insurance Company.
During his career he achieved many sales awards within the company including lifetime member of the Million Dollar Round Table a membership that is recognised as the standard of excellence in life insurance and financial services business.
While building his career he and Jane owned and operated a rooming house Logans Lodge for decades in Collingwood. Known as the " Loan A Ranger " he would help some of the tenants in their time of need. They trusted and respected him and a lot of them remained tenants for several years.
In 2008 Murray had a stroke and was told he would never walk again, he proved to himself and us that he could. The following years presented several challenges which he always seemed to overcome, his dedication, positive outlook, strength, Mom's continuous encouragement and a lot of hard work surprised us over and over again. The last year was hard as we watched his mobility and health further decline, it was hard for him as well he was a very proud man.
Thank you to CGMH medical floor for your kind words and compassionate care during this time. To name a few, Patti, Kelly, Kiely, Linda and Lorisa we thank you for watching over him and keeping his jazz tunes playing when we couldn't be there, this meant the world to him and our family. Your right he was a sweetheart and pretty darn cute.
We are all so proud of you and your accomplishments as you were of ours. We cherish our memories, miss your sense of humor, and your gentle nature. Keep smiling, we will see you again some day
