Obituary for Linda Jane McBurney

Linda passed away at home in Collingwood. She lived life to its fullest, enjoyed cottage life, walking Charlie, outdoor summer and winter activities, volunteering with local charitable organizations as treasurer or editor, and being an advocate of the Arts and the environment. Linda was retired for over thirty years and previously worked for the Food and Drug Directorate in Toronto and the Department of National Defence in Downsview. She never shied away from new challenges in retirement such as: writing HTML code as a would-be webmaster, editing newsletters, masonry, plumbing, electrical wiring, creating stained glass, and oil painting. Linda wished her family and her close friends in Mulmur, Clearview, and the south Georgian Bay area to know that they incredibly enriched her life and that they are greatly loved and cherished. Daughter of the late Walter Gordon McBurney and Florence Barnard Turbayne. Longtime friend of the late Rosemary Bolitho. Beloved Aunt of Peter (Robin), Paul and Michael, and beloved great-Aunt of Andrew, Haidyn, Jack, and Carter. Sister-in-law of Donna May. Sister of the late Alan Frederic and Peter Barnard. Interment at Fairview Cemetery in Niagara Falls, at a time and date to be confirmed. If desired, donations to the Nature League, Collingwood (natureleague.ca) or a green charity of your choosing would be appreciated.
