Obituary for Lisa Gillis

Lisa Rose Gillis was born in Collingwood on October 24th, 1968 to Gregory and Margaret Brindisi. Lisa took great pride in being a mother to her daughters Kaelie and Maddy and a loving wife to her husband Doug. She had the kindest soul, an extremely caring heart and was definitely an animal lover. Doug and Lisa went on various excursions across the globe with some of her favourite places being South Africa and Italy. Lisa loved warm weather and the ocean and always enjoyed the family’s yearly trips to Florida. Lisa had a wonderful sense of humour and a laugh that could fill a room. She had a sweet tooth, loved her favourite basketball team (The Raptors) and would pay homage to her British heritage through her love of watching Coronation Street every Sunday morning. She was passionate about cooking and loved spending time in the kitchen trying new recipes or creating her own. Lisa was also an athlete and used to compete in triathlons, enjoyed skiing and cycling, and at one point taught aerobics at the local YMCA. She will be deeply missed by her husband Douglas, her daughters Kaelie (Charles) and Maddy (Kelsey) and her feline daughter Mapps, her mother Margaret Brindisi, brother Nick Brindisi, sister-in-law Susan and nephews Tommy and Matt along with ten brothers & sisters-in-law and many cousins, nephews and nieces. Should friends and family desire, contributions may be sent to the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital Foundation or Georgian Triangle Humane Society. F
