Michael James Stephen Gillett passed away peacefully at the Gillett family home in Thornbury, Ontario on March 8, 2022 shortly before his 74th birthday. His three sons were with him through his final moments on Earth.

Michael of Thornbury, beloved husband of Carol Webster (nee Healey). Loving father of Nicole (Clint) of Vancouver, Christopher (Natalie) of Hamilton, Gregory (Harmony) of Heathcote and Paul (Sherry) of Toronto. Cherished grandfather to Ethan of Vancouver and Mathilda of Mississauga. Preceded by his parents Stanley Kenneth and Barbara Edna of Collingwood, originally of India. Preceded by his dear younger brother Gregory of Mississauga.

Michael was born in London, England where he attended day school with his brother Greg and lived on the River Thames. The Gillett family moved to Canada in 1958 and Michael went on to attend Port Credit Secondary School in Mississauga where he made many dear friends, many of whom he was still close with through his final days.

Michael got together with his wife, Carol, in Collingwood in 1986 and they settled in Thornbury shortly thereafter. He had fulling livelihoods as a jewelry designer, as a pilot flying and selling aircraft, and as an investment advisor in the wealth management industry. Michael was a member of the Thornbury Yacht Club since the 1980s and was an active member of the community having spent many summers with Carol on their boat, Easy, cruising and exploring Georgian Bay.

A special thank you to all of the friends and support workers who helped support Michael through his final years with us.

A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Michael on Friday June 24, 2022 in Thornbury, Ontario, the location of which is to be confirmed.
