Obituary for Mike Flood

Michael Lloyd Flood, passed peacefully at home January 28th, 2021, in his 81st year.
Mike was predeceased by his parents, Kitchener and Leone Flood and his brother Bill. Dearly loved brother of Sharon McKean (Ken).
Michael’s wife, Eileen, of 57 wonderful years passed away April 2020.
Mike is survived by his three daughters, Sue Hawken (Rick), Christine Patten, and Theressa Hanley (Steve).
Forever cherished grandpa to Taylor, Rachel, Erin (Justin), Lindsay, Andrew and Laura.
Mike will be fondly remembered for his wonderful laugh, great sense of humour, and storytelling.
Dad worked at the Collingwood Shipyards from the age of 14 until it closed in 1986. In addition to his work as a millwright, dad was one of the few underwater welders at the yard. Mike’s second career was spent working for the maintenance shop at Blue Mountain Resorts. He enjoyed many years of climbing towers and the comradery of his fellow workers.
When Mike was not working, he could be found at the Flood Farm pruning or picking apples. He loved camping, fishing, hunting, dancing, playing cards with friends or traveling all over the world with Eileen.
The Flood family would like to thank Dr. Arthur and staff, North Simcoe/Muskoka LHIN team, St. Elizabeth’s (Jennifer) and Dad’s neighbours, Curtis & Maxine for their wonderful care and support of our father. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mike’s name to the Cancer Society.
A private interment will take place at the First Presbyterian Cemetery, Collingwood.
