Onalee was born April 30, 1926 in Detroit, MI. Her parents were Dr. John Laird Jr. and Doris Laird. She grew up in Flint, MI and graduated from Michigan State University, School of Business in 1947. She worked as manager of hospital medical records at St. Francis Memorial Hospital, San Francisco, California and then as a consultant for the California Department of Public Health. She was president of the California Association of Medical Record Librarians. After her marriage to Harry W. Hamilton in 1971 she moved to Collingwood, Ontario to be with Harry and his son William. Harry was the owner of Hamilton Construction; he died in 2009. Onalee will be missed by Bill and his wife Virginia; their children Jodie (Drew) Clair and Stephen (Alexandra) Hamilton and grandchildren Taylor and Samantha Clair and Charlotte and Henry Hamilton. A graveside service will be held in the spring at Trinity United Cemetery.
