Among the kids who grew up together at Round Lake, Roger was always kind, quiet, never a show off, easy to talk to - qualities he kept all his life. Sending sincere sympathy to his family; he will be deeply missed.

Angela, Brad and Darren. It was with great sadness that I hear of the passing of you father. I would meet in the street and he would always bring me up to date on you and your families. He loved talking about you. He was very proud of you. You are in my prayers. May the memories you have keep you close to him. Donita Ruppert

I still remember the day when Roger told me that his son Brad had joined the Air Force as a pilot. He seemed to be a man of few words but I could sense so much pride as he gave me the good news. Roger's passing came too soon. Condolences to the entire family.

My husband Bruce and I were saddened to hear of Roger's passing–it is a great loss to our community at Round Lake. When we were all teens there, I remember Roger as being one of the nicest, kindest people. I am so glad to have reconnected with him in recent years on "docks-in days", still experiencing that warm, gentle, welcoming nature. We send sincere condolences to Angela, Brad and Darren, and his sister Cathie. Sincerely, Wendy Engel
