Steve passed peacefully at home with Susan (nee Sharp), his loving wife of 32 years, at his side. Steve loves and is extremely proud of his children Angela (Ryan Nobes), Matt, and Sam as well as his grandchildren Kayla Nobes (Dan Donnelly), Kevin Nobes (Justine Johnson), Marlee, Alex, and Jack Sprecker. Steve was over the moon to become a great Poppa to Molly Donnelly. Although he didn't get to meet her in person he was overjoyed to see all the photos. Steve believed children are a blessing and a heritage. He is survived by his sister Kathy Mason.
Steve was a bricklayer and cabinetmaker by trade and owner/operator of Collingwood Cabinets in the 80's. Drive around Georgian Bay, and Southwestern Ontario, and you're sure to find Steve's handiwork in and outside many homes.
Steve knowingly accepted Jesus as his Lord and Saviour at 37. He always told people "When I was done with my life, God wasn't." It was a game changer! He finally had peace - true peace! It was his mission to lead others to that peace that can only be found in Jesus.
Steve loved deeply and laughed daily, he was an all-in guy. He was a giver of time and money; anything he had he held loosely knowing if it could help someone or make their life better it was worth giving away. Steve loved people! He loved talking to people and spending time with people. He was also there to listen when someone needed to get something off their chest or just catch up. They may not have always liked or appreciated the advice offered, but if followed it usually led to a favourable outcome. He loved sharing stories - and he had many. If we put them all together there would be volumes. It wasn't about the story though, it was about life and lessons learned, how choices (good and bad) have cause and effect. Steve always, always wanted the best for people.
Steve is a man of passion! He will be deeply missed by many - far more than any of us are aware. The world is a better place for having known him!
The family wishes to thank everyone for their condolences, flowers, food, and overall support at this time. It is all greatly appreciated. Blessings on you.
