Vernon Edward Cornfield passed away peacefully on Friday April 26, 2019 at the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital in his 91st year. Vern, beloved husband of Ruth Cornfield of Collingwood. Loving father of Keith (Diane) Cornfield, Bill (Cindy) Weir, Wayne (Anita) Cornfield and Nancy Weir. Will be forever cherished in the hearts of his grandchildren Annette, Denise, Andrew, Julianne, Jeff, Krista, Chris, Michelle and Lesley and 10 great grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents Harvey and Alice Cornfield, brother Ken, sister Ruth Genoe and daughters Donna Lloyd and Carol Hayman. Visitation will take place on Tuesday April, 30, 2019 from 6-9 p.m. in the evening at Fawcett Funeral Home - Collingwood Chapel, 82 Pine Street. A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Wednesday May 1, 2019 at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice in Mr. Cornfield's memory.
