Obituary for Victor Gajardo

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Victor Gajardo on Tuesday March 12, 2019 at the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital at the age of 70 years.

Victor, was family oriented, full of life and happy to see everyone. Anyone he knew enjoyed his company. He didn’t come from a privileged family. He lost his mother at a very young age in Chile and made his way to Canada where he met his wife Emely Gajardo. Together they had 4 children Brenda Gajardo, Vicky Gajardo-Marlow, Mark Gajardo and Linda Gajardo.

He started his own business as a jeweller in Bolton. He was very involved with the community and over the years was even coined “Victor the old time jeweller”. Eventually he was forced to retire due to health conditions and was unable to continue his passion that he had learned at such a young age.

When he had his second aneurysm 6 years ago and suffered a massive stroke during surgery, he was unable to walk or eat on his own. He had been several times in the hospital and had been weakening in his fight to stay with his family. And this was his final battle his heart could not overcome.

He is loved by many friends and family in Canada, Italy and Chile. And he will forever be in all our hearts.

Friends will be received at Fawcett Funeral Home – Creemore Chapel on Friday March 15, 2019 from 9-10 a.m. followed by funeral mass at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Chapel, 535 Dieppe Rd. CFB Borden. In lieu of flowers donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
