Obituary for Wilma Holden

Wilma (Willie) Ferrier Holden (Sep 28, 1934 - Jan 15, 2022)

Incredibly sweet, always kind, and honest - that was our Mum.
She would never want to be a bother, always putting others before herself.
She was forgiving.
She was gracious.
She had a schoolgirl giggle that nobody could forget.
She was shy, yet incredibly resilient.
She spoke softly and never with an ill word.
She was beautiful; her blue eyes always had a twinkle.
She was fiercely loyal and a dear friend, especially to those she worked with.
Spring was her favourite season.
Freesias were her favourite flower, who knew they symbolized sweetness, thought, friendship, trust, and innocence. Just like Mum.
She was an amazing mother, Gran and Gagaloo, and yes, she produced the biggest stockings with gold coins and tangerines.
She was a nurturer, and her kind ways extended well beyond her family and friends.
Mum would take in any stray - be it a human or a four legged one.
Her life was filled with animals - too many to count.
She was a child of the war, she was frugal -she was a self-proclaimed Scot.
She was a lady first and foremost.
She will never know the impact she had, she thought she had none.
How wrong she was.
She will be missed.
She left us as gracefully as she lived.
We love you Mum.

A private Celebration of Life will be held when it is safe to gather. Friends and family will be notified when a date is confirmed. For those who wish to honour Wilma, donations may be made to the Georgian Triangle Humane Society.
