Robert ‘Bob’ Arthur Armstrong of Collingwood passed away peacefully on July 28, 2017 surrounded by his family at the age of 71. Bob was born to Arthur and Violet Armstrong September 3, 1945 in East York and grew up in Milliken.
Bob was an active man who loved to ski, golf, sail, and bike. He enjoyed spending time talking with friends and family, and was always up for watching the game, listening to music, or dancing. He was a talented carpenter and entrepreneur who started a successful business building custom chalets all around the Collingwood area which he continued until his retirement.
He was extremely loving and proud of his sons James (Kelly) and Robert (Jenny), and grandchildren Amy, Hailey and Benjamin. He is survived by his sisters Susanne (Frank Kovac) and Nancy (Martin Wehrmann) and many loving nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, his wife Audrey, and brother Larry.
The family will receive friends on Monday August 7, 2017 from 12 p.m. until 3 p.m. at Fawcett Funeral Home at 82 Pine Street in Collingwood, followed by a Celebration of Life at Batteaux Creek Golf Club at 7422 Sideroad 30-31 Nottawa. Memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
